I have used Skidmore’s Restoration Cream for years, primarily for maintaining the finish on a handmade Kansas walnut table and it has never done anything but add luster and protection. It’s a fairly thick cream made from beeswax and also brings back to life those leather goods (including sofas, briefcases, hats, gloves – anything made of leather) and restores the sheen and richness. A family business, they produce small batches in Wyoming that are available in sizes ranging from a 6 ounce jar to a gallon container. Not cheap to buy or ship but preserves fine wood and leather for a lifetime is if used regularly. Well worth the investment.
